Penn State continues to perform well in U.S. News graduate school rankings

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s graduate school programs continue to perform well in the annual U.S. News & World Report “Best Graduate Schools” rankings, the latest of which were announced March 14. The 2018 edition updates rankings for several professional graduate school disciplines, including business, education, engineering, law and nursing, as well as the social sciences and humanities.

Program specialties at Penn State that ranked in the top 10 among their counterparts at other national universities include technical/vocational education, ranking at No. 2; developmental psychology at No. 5; supply chain/logistics at No. 6; petroleum engineering at No. 6; higher education administration at No. 6; rehabilitation counseling at No. 6; sociology of population at No. 7; nuclear engineering at No. 8; industrial/manufacturing/systems engineering at No. 8; student counseling and personnel services at No. 8; biological/agricultural engineering at No. 9; educational administration and supervision at No. 9; and education policy at No. 10.

According to U.S. News & World Report, the data for the annual graduate school rankings come from statistical surveys of more than 1,970 programs and from reputation surveys sent to more than 16,500 academics and professionals, conducted in fall 2016 and early 2017. Methodologies for each of the 2018 rankings are available online.
