Pride Week to feature Angelica Ross on March 22

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Transgender entrepreneur, activist, model and actress Angelica Ross will speak at 8 p.m. on March 22 in the HUB-Robeson Center's Freeman Auditorium as part of Pride Week.

A leader in the movement for transgender and racial equality, Ross is the founder of TransTech Social Enterprises, a company that empowers trans and gender nonconforming people through on-the-job training in leadership and workplace skills.

Over the course of 10 years, Ross has worked to engage others and create opportunities for independence, freedom and success through social work, entrepreneur and leadership development, business building and education.

In her national speaking tours and collaborative efforts that stretch across the globe, Ross continues to speak out for organizational change that allows transgender people and people of color to speak, share their value and create lasting success.

Ross’ lecture is free and open to the public.

The lecture is sponsored by Penn State’s LGBTQA Student Resource Center, the Center for Women Students, and University Park Allocation Committee. Pride Week runs March 20 to 24. For a schedule of events, visit studentaffairs.psu.edu/lgbtqa/.
