2017 spring break parking and transit information

Transportation Services has announced changes to parking and transit services during the University's spring break.

PARKING

All normal weekday faculty, staff, student, and visitor parking regulations will remain in effect during spring break. However, due to reduced CATA Loop and Link service, faculty/staff Orange and both faculty/staff and student Commuter permits will be valid at the following faculty/staff parking areas from Monday, March 6 through Friday, March 10:

  • Eisenhower Deck
  • Lot Red A
  • Orange lots
  • Commuter lots

All other faculty/staff permit holders must park in their designated parking areas, or at one of the Orange or Commuter lots. Evening/weekend permits will remain valid on weekdays only after 4 p.m., and overnight parking between 2-4 a.m. will remain unavailable for student Commuter permit holders.

CATA SERVICE

CATA will observe its Reduced Service schedule from Saturday, March 4, through Saturday, March 11. More information on CATA service changes can be found via the CATA website.

SHUTTLE SERVICE

There will be no Paratransit Shuttle service from Monday, March 6, through Friday, March 10.

The ADA-accessible Campus Shuttle, which provides no-fare service around campus to faculty, staff, students and visitors, will remain in service during spring break. Real-time shuttle information can be found at http://psu.transloc.com or by downloading the free Rider app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

The Hershey Shuttle will also remain in service during spring break.

PARKING OFFICE AND FLEET OPERATIONS

The Parking Office and Fleet Operations will observe normal office and building hours during spring break.

STUDENT PARKING AFTER SPRING BREAK

Students not currently registered for on-campus parking who wish return to campus after spring break with a vehicle must first register for a permit online. Upon completion of the registration, a printable temporary permit is available that can be displayed on the vehicle for immediate access to parking. The permanent permit will then be mailed to the student's campus mailbox or local address. With the exception of commuter and graduate students, students must have completed at least 28 credits prior to the current semester to be eligible for on-campus parking.
