Learn tips for managing your portfolio in 2017

ERIE, Pa. — A registered principal with LPL Financial will discuss tips for successful portfolio management in the next presentation of the Finance Speaker Series at Penn State Behrend.

Kevin Slocum’s presentation, “Business Outlook 2017: Tips to Portfolio Management Success,” will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, in Room 180 of the Jack Burke Research and Economic Development Center, located at 5101 Jordan Road. The program is free and open to the public, and free parking will be available in the deck located behind Burke Center, off Technology Drive.

In addition to his work with LPL Financial, Slocum is the principal and owner of Retirement Services of Erie. He is a Penn State Behrend graduate and holds the certified fund specialist (CFS) designation from The Institute of Business and Finance. He completed the CFP Certification Professional Education Program with the College for Financial Planning.

Slocum will discuss how businesses both in the United States and abroad are adapting to changing business environments. He will outline how portfolio selection will be crucial in 2017 and how it is always best to maintain the long view with regard to financial investments. A question-and-answer session will follow his talk.
