ERIE, Pa. — Penn State Behrend’s basketball teams exited the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference tournament in the semifinal round. The men lost to La Roche, 75-50; the women also lost to La Roche, 80-53.
The campus' baseball, volleyball, water polo, tennis and track and field teams also were in action last week. Here are the highlights.
Men’s basketball
La Roche 75, Penn State Behrend 50
Andy Niland, a sophomore from Fairview, scored 10 points in the loss to La Roche. He was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Women’s basketball
Penn State Behrend 91, Mt. Aloysius 64
La Roche 80, Penn State Behrend 53
The Lions posted a season-high 91 points against Mt. Aloysius. Katie Chess, a freshman from Bethel Park, scored 18.
Baseball
Spalding 4, Penn State Behrend 3
Spalding 8, Penn State Behrend 3

Jack Herzing, a senior from St. Mary’s, pitched four innings in the second loss to Spalding. He struck out 10 batters and gave up just one hit.
Men’s track and field
Mitchell Obenrader, a senior from Fryburg, won the shot put at the Denison Last Chance Meet with a throw of 16.69 meters. Luke Patten, a senior from West Middlesex, won the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.85 meters.
Women’s track and field
Paige Allen, a senior from Butler, placed second in the 60-meter dash at the Denison Last Chance Meet, finishing in 7.79 seconds.
