UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Alumni Association's THON 2017 round-up covers the live stream, information on alumni dancers, watch parties and a new fundraiser that lets you show your support #FTK leading up to THON Weekend (Feb. 17-19).

THON 46 live stream
Students from Penn State’s College of Communications will once again live stream THON as part of Live 46. Visit THON.org/webcast to bookmark the live stream, which will begin on Friday, Feb. 17. You can also follow the group on Facebook and Twitter to stay informed leading up to THON Weekend.

DMAIG dancers
Our Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group (DMAIG) will have four dancers at THON: Ashley Edwards (2014 graduate), Sarah Krisher (2014), Stephanie Wittig (2011) and Amanda Unger (2012).

This week, the Alumni Association will share more information on the DMAIG dancers on Twitter and Instagram, including the food they'll crave THON Weekend and why they dance. According to DMAIG, the organization’s potential dancers raised more than $45,000.

Watch parties
Penn State alumni will gather across the country to watch THON 2017, and we hope you let us know where you’ll be watching.

Visit the Alumni Association's Facebook event and share details about where your alumni group is gathering to watch THON. We’re also encouraging chapters and groups to share photos and videos during your watch parties. They can also be posted to the Facebook event.

Hope From Coast 2 Coast
Calling all runners, walkers, and THON-enthusiasts — The Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group (DMAIG) is providing volunteers one last opportunity to fundraise and raise awareness before THON Weekend 2017.

"Hope From Coast 2 Coast" is a virtual run-and-walk that will take place Feb. 12-19, the week leading up to THON Weekend. Participants are able to run and walk on their own terms and from any remote location over the course of the week. Each participant has the option to run and walk individually or within a team.

In either case, participants will join a community of volunteers and Penn Staters who are passionate about making a difference in children’s lives. The event is broken down into four different levels based on distances. The levels range from one mile completed individually, to a maximum of 135 miles achieved within a team.

Each participant is encouraged to try to raise $150, though there is no fundraising minimum. Whether you’re running or walking, whether it’s fast or slow, you can help take steps toward achieving the goal of conquering childhood cancer.

For more information or to sign up for the event, visit DMAIG’s Hope From Coast 2 Coast website.
