Kakuturu to provide insights using X-ray microCT

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Sai Kakuturu, associate professor of civil engineering in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Science, Engineering, and Technology will present "Why do sinkholes form? Why do dams/levees break? New insights using X-ray microCT" from noon to 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge on campus.

Kakuturu’s research interests include traditional methods and X-ray micro-computed-tomography (μCT) for research on geo-environmental issues and soil erosion, and pedagogical research for enhancing civil engineering education. His teaching interests include engineering mechanics of soils, foundation engineering and fluid mechanics.
