Applications are now being accepted for the 2017-18 Steve A. Garban Grant-In-Aid. Children of full-time Penn State or Penn College technical service or staff employees are eligible to apply.

Eligible students must be offered admission as first-year, full-time students at any Penn State campus or at the Pennsylvania College of Technology; must have demonstrated leadership and humanitarian qualities through extracurricular activities; and must have achieved or show promise of achieving academic success. This grant-in-aid, awarded to one first-year student, will be applied to on-campus room and board charges for two years, provided the student continues to meet all eligibility requirements.

To apply, eligible students must submit a letter of application that includes the student's name and Penn State ID or Penn College ID; the Penn State or Penn College staff employee's name, the Penn State ID and position of employee; and a personal essay of no more than two typed pages that illustrates the student's leadership, humanitarian and academic merits. Letters of application will be accepted until April 21. The award recipient will be selected by the Office of Student Aid Scholarship Committee and announced in May. All applicants will be notified.

Interested students should send a letter of application to: The Office of Student Aid Scholarship Committee, University Scholarships, 314 Shields Building, University Park, PA 16802.
