Brian Wolfgang wins 2016 NAHB Outstanding Junior Educator Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Brian Wolfgang, housing systems specialist at Penn State’s Pennsylvania Housing Research Center (PHRC), received the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Student Chapter Award for Outstanding Junior Educator at the 2017 NAHB International Builders’ Show in January in Orlando.

Sponsored by Cengage Learning, this prestigious award recognizes and encourages high quality standards in teaching construction education. Educators are recognized for their voluntary extracurricular activities, including those with construction industry organizations, as well as their construction experience and professional initiatives.

Wolfgang has taught AE 470 Residential Building Design and Construction since 2014 and has mentored and engaged with Penn State’s NAHB student chapter and NAHB Residential Construction Management Competition team for the past four years. He was also actively involved in the NAHB student chapter as a student and holds his master’s degree in architectural engineering and bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Penn State.

“Congratulations to Brian Wolfgang,” said Jerry Howard, CEO of NAHB. “Brian demonstrates a dedication to the field of teaching and helping students achieve their very best at Penn State.”
