Faculty encouraged to nominate students for Undergraduate Research Exhibition

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State faculty are invited to nominate deserving undergraduate students in their programs to participate in the Africana Research Center’s Undergraduate Research Exhibition on Oct. 7 at the Nittany Lion Inn. The exhibition recognizes and celebrates the scholarly development of undergraduate students who have written research papers on issues pertaining to some aspect of the African Diaspora.

Nominations should be submitted to AfricanaCenter@la.psu.edu by April 28 and should include the student’s name, email address, and electronic eight- to 10-page paper from either the fall 2016 or spring 2017 semester. Accepted nominees will get the chance to present their research to the public, followed by a luncheon and keynote address.

Faculty advisers will be invited to attend the event with their students. Prizes will be awarded, including funding in the amount of $1,000, $750, and $500, plus the opportunity to present at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in spring 2018.
