Speaker applications now being accepted for TEDxPSUBehrend

ERIE, Pa. — Applications are now being accepted for speakers who would like to be considered for TEDxPSUBehrend, an independently organized TED event that will be held at Penn State Behrend.

TEDxPSUBehrend is scheduled from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 8. The program’s theme will be “Just a Moment.” The event is designed to foster learning, inspiration and wonder by bringing bright minds together to discuss a variety of subjects.

Interested speakers can apply by uploading a video of 60 seconds or less and filling out the Call for Speakers form on the TEDxPSUBehrend site. Submissions are due Friday, Feb. 3, and all applicants will be notified of their status by Monday, Feb. 13. All selected speakers will have the opportunity to further craft their presentations by working with a professional speech coach.

More than 100 people are expected to attend TEDxPSUBehrend. The event also will be available for live viewing through http://livestream.com. Every speaker and performer presentation will be uploaded to the TEDx YouTube channel, and the videos may be considered for posting on TED’s main website.

This independent TEDx event is sponsored by the Black School of Business at Penn State Behrend. For more information, contact Dave Causgrove, lecturer in marketing and TEDxPSUBehrend curator, at djc11@psu.edu or Bobbie Peters, administrative coordinator for the event, at rcp12@psu.edu.
