Penn State to sponsor conference on quality in industrial applications

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State, internationally known for its cutting-edge research technologies and collaborative research efforts, is teaming up with Tsinghua University to sponsor the second annual Sino-U.S. Conference on Quality, Analytics and Innovations this summer.

The conference, to be held June 26-27 at Tsinghua University in Beijing, will bring together engineers and scientists from the United States and China to discuss discoveries in quality, analytics and innovations, with the goal of increasing the impact on economic development within both countries.

“The emphasis on quality in industrial applications is being leveraged to a level higher than ever, thus presenting researchers with more opportunities and more challenges at the same time,” said Hui Yang, Harold and Inge Marcus Career Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering and the lead conference organizer from Penn State.

“Innovation is the best solution to tackle raising challenges and we will be discussing the newest advancements in technology to help meet these challenges while propelling new technologies forward,” he added.

Conference topics will include quality and reliability engineering, system informatics, data analytics, innovations and systems engineering.
