Student nominees being accepted for Achieving Women Award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — To celebrate the many accomplishments of women in various roles across the University, the Commission for Women (CFW) annually recognizes seven women for their leadership and service to the community. Women selected for the Achieving Women Award will be honored at the commission's annual luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center.

The CFW's Achieving Women Award recognizes Penn State women who have shown notable leadership and accomplishment in their fields, and have gone beyond the requirements of employment duties and responsibilities in their support of the University's diversity efforts, promotion of equal opportunity, or contribution to humanitarian causes and public service activities. Eligible women are current employees and students of Penn State in the following categories: faculty, staff exempt, staff nonexempt, administrator, technical service, undergraduate student, and graduate student (including postdoctoral fellows and scholars). One award is typically given in each of the seven categories.

There are two categories specifically for student nominees: undergraduate and graduate (including postdoctoral fellows and scholars). To submit nominations, visit equity.psu.edu/cfw/awards.

Submissions will be accepted until Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017. For more information, contact CFW Awards Committee co-chairs Sherry Lonsdale at ssl6@psu.edu or Tatiana Zwerling at tiz101@psu.edu
