ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend men’s basketball team won two AMCC conference games last week. The women’s team split its two conference match-ups. The swimming and diving teams also were in action last week. Here are the highlights.
Men’s basketball
Penn State Behrend 76, D’Youville 52
Penn State Behrend 81, Franciscan 43
Andy Niland, of Fairview, scored 20 points against Franciscan and 19 against D’Youville. He made five of six 3-pointers in the Franciscan game.
Women’s basketball
D’Youville 59, Penn State Behrend 51
Penn State Behrend 79, Franciscan 47
Katie Chess, of Bethel Park, had 16 points and eight rebounds in the win over Franciscan.
Men’s swimming and diving
Second (of nine teams) at the Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational
Mark Patterson, of North Huntingdon, won the 200 free and the 100 backstroke, finishing in 1:43.38 and 51.68. Nick Kost, of Ashburn, Virginia, won the 400 individual medley in 4:06.95 – an NCAA “B” cut time.
Women’s swimming and diving
Seventh (of nine teams) at the Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational
Maryn Horn, of Houston, set a school record in the 50 free on the first day in Fredonia, finishing in 24.70.
