Schreyer Institute workshop to focus on how to encourage student reading

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present a free online workshop titled “Why Students Don't Read, and How to Get Them to Do It” from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, via Zoom at https://psu.zoom.us/meeting/355309990.

The workshop will be repeated from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, in the same Zoom meeting room.

This interactive session, facilitated by Larkin Hood, begins with a quick review of the research on why students do not read. The workshop will then focus on evidence-based strategies designed to encourage students to complete reading assignments, and to become better readers.
