Breast Center and Child Life Program benefit from fundraising efforts

HERSHEY, Pa. — Two recent events raised a combined total of nearly $16,000 for entities at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

The fourth annual Helping Little Hands Rock & Ride Event raised $8,012 for the Child Life Program at Penn State Children’s Hospital. Barry Sheeder holds the event every year as a way of saying thank you for the care his daughter received at the Children’s Hospital several years ago. Since 2013, the ride has contributed more than $28,000 to Child Life.

The seventh annual Horizon of Hope Brunch raised $7,950 for the Karen Dwyer-Jones Patient Care Fund at Penn State Breast Center. They include the Karen Dwyer-Jones Patient Care Fund at the Breast Center, the American Cancer Society and the PA Breast Cancer Coalition. Since 2014, the Horizon of Hope Brunch has raised more than $28,000 for the Breast Center.
