UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State Athletics will be providing complimentary shuttle service to the Ohio State football game for fans who are parking an RV at the Centre County Grange Fairgrounds in Centre Hall.

The Nittany Lions are set to clash with No. 2 Ohio State Saturday in a Big Ten East Division contest. Kickoff for the ABC national telecast is at 8 p.m. in Beaver Stadium and all Nittany Lion fans are encouraged to wear white for the Penn State White Out. Inclement weather in the Centre Region the past two days has forced parking changes (see below).

Penn State Athletics announced Sept. 21 that advance RV parking for the Ohio State game was sold out. Earlier this week, in anticipation of inclement weather, Penn State announced that patrons without a pre-paid RV permit would not be permitted to park in gameday lots.  These fans are encouraged to travel to the game in a passenger vehicle or make accommodations in a location off the University Park campus.

One of the locations fans with RVs can utilize for overnight or game day parking is the Grange Fair, at 169 Homan Lane, just off Route 45 in Centre Hall. The cost to park an RV is $30 per night, which includes power and water. A dump site also is available for a fee and there is no cost for additional cars.

Penn State Athletics will operate complimentary shuttle service to and from the Grange Fair on Saturday. The shuttle will depart Grange Fair, leaving from Homan Lane, just north of Gate 4, for Beaver Stadium every 30 minutes, starting at 2:30 p.m., with the last shuttle departing at 6 p.m. The trip to Beaver Stadium is expected to take at least 45 minutes for the earliest trips and more than an hour for the later shuttles.

The shuttle will drop off and pick up fans on University Drive, just north of Park Avenue, a short walk to Beaver Stadium. The shuttles hold approximately 40 people and fans are encouraged to catch an earlier shuttle to ensure space for all fans.

After the game, fans returning to the Grange Fair should begin loading the buses closest to Park Avenue first. Shuttles will begin to leave as they fill and the pedestrian and car traffic dissipates. The last shuttle returning to the Grange Fair will depart one hour after the game ends or whenever the line ends.

For fans in need of ADA accommodations on a Grange Fair shuttle, please call 814-863-3489 by 4 p.m. Friday or see an attendant at the pick-up and drop locations.

For more information or to reserve an RV parking space at the Grange Fair, fans should call 866-236-3247 or

814-364-9212 or 1-800-NITTANY. The Grange Fair email address is: grangefair@grangefair.net

Car Parking Changes for Saturday:

Due to inclement weather the past two days and damage to the fields earlier this month from wet parking conditions, the Brown Lot, Family Friendly Lot and Yellow Lot 12 (IM Fields) will be closed for the Ohio State game, in order to preserve campus student recreation’s interest in the IM Fields.

Penn State Athletics also will be providing a complimentary shuttle for fans who wish to park a car at Innovation Park, with drop off near the intersection of Park Avenue and Fox Hollow Road, starting at 5 p.m. The shuttle will run for at least 30 minutes after the game or until the line is gone. In addition, the CATA Red Link Bus is available to bring fans who arrive in a car from Lot Red A on North Atherton Street, with drop off near the Creamery, a short walk down to Beaver Stadium. The Red Link runs from 9 a.m. until approximately 12:30 a.m. The Red Link has two stops inside Lot Red A. RVs are not permitted in Innovation Park or Lot Red A.

Parking Changes:

  • Brown lot, Family Friendly lot and Yellow Lot 12 will be closed Saturday.
  • Brown parking permits will be honored in the Orange lot and Blue lot.  Fans are asked to arrive from the East (Park Avenue) to access the Orange lot or from Route 26/College Avenue to access the Blue lot.
  • Yellow pass holders who have parked in Lot 12, should plan to park in the yellow lots on the east side of the stadium (via Park Avenue westbound from I-99, Orchard Road or Fox Hollow Road).
  • ADA parking is not affected.
  • Only fans with a pre-paid RV parking pass will be permitted into the RV lot.

Fans Encouraged to Arrive Early; Concession Discounts from 6:00-6;45 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to arrive in Beaver Stadium early (gates open at 6 p.m.) and early arriving fans will have an opportunity to receive discounts at the concession stands and watch other college football games on the stadium videoboards.

Fans entering the stadium soon after the gates open will be able to get $2 off a $5 purchase for items purchased at the concession stands from 6-6:45 p.m. Cash, credit card and LionCash purchases are accepted at the concession stands.

Fans are encouraged to secure tents and canopies in the parking lots on Saturday, as windy conditions are expected throughout the day.

Fans are reminded that Penn State is providing security screening for all guests this season at entry gates using metal detection wands. With this security measure in place, all public gates, including the ADA and student gates, will open two hours prior to kickoff to provide ample time for all fans to pass through security.

Patrons will be asked to remove items from their pockets upon entering Beaver Stadium when the gates open at 6 p.m.

With the potential for wet weather, fans are reminded that umbrellas are prohibited from the stadium.
