UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Sophomore Charles Huntzinger was named the Big Ten Co-Golfer of the Week with Michigan's Ian Kim for the third time in his career after his championship showing at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate this past weekend.

Huntzinger captured the title against the 84-player field after his three rounds of 66, 68 and 69 placed him atop the leaderboard with a total score of 203. At 13-under, the Duluth, Georgia, native finished two strokes ahead of the next competitor. As a team Penn State finished 8th at even par.

It was Huntzinger's second individual tournament title with the previous at the 2016 Rutherford Intercollegiate last April.

Huntzinger becomes the only Penn State golfer under head coach Greg Nye to be honored three times for the award. Previous selections were on March 16, 2016, and April 20, 2016.

After his second selection last April, Huntzinger joined Matt Abbott ('01), Jeff Turton ('02), Robert Rohanna ('08), Kevin Foley ('10) and TJ Howe ('11) as the only Lions to win Golfer of the Week honors more than once.
