UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Are you ready to rally the Nittany Lions to beat Ohio State?

Join the Blue & White Society this Friday, Oct. 21, at Medlar Field to get pumped up for Saturday’s football matchup at Rally in the Valley.

Rally in the Valley will feature special appearances by various Intercollegiate Athletics teams such as baseball, women’s gymnastics, swimming and diving, fencing, cheerleading, the Lionettes, and the current Big Ten and NCAA champions, Penn State wrestling.

Gates at Medlar will open at 8 p.m., with the program beginning at 9 p.m. Come early for the chance to meet Happy Valley favorite Mike the Mailman and to get a photo with the Lion. The Statesmen, Penn State’s all-male a cappella group, will be performing on the concourse before the program as well.

“We are really excited to move Rally to a new venue this year and expand the fan experience by bringing more teams into the program,” said Adam Jarvis, Blue & White Society vice president of external programming. “We’re also pretty excited to work with the State College Spikes to add a fireworks show to the end of rally. It is truly going to be bigger and better than ever this year."

The event is free and open to the public. Traditionally, Rally in the Valley has been a football pep rally, getting its start more than a decade ago. This year, the Blue & White Society worked with the State College Spikes and Penn State Athletics to expand the scope of the program to celebrate all student-athletes at the University. Parking for the event will be available in Lot Porter North and Lot Jordan East after 5 p.m.

The Blue & White Society is the student membership of the Penn State Alumni Association, with societies at campuses across Pennsylvania. With nearly 9,000 members, it is the largest and one of the most active student organizations at Penn State. The Blue & White Society plans many events on campus each year while also participating in events such as THON, Homecoming, Relay For Life, and various community service programs.
