Register now for hands-on Canvas training

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Registration is now open for the latest round of Canvas training sessions, which are scheduled through December. With the clock ticking on the availability to use ANGEL, the time to learn how to use the new learning management system is now.

IT Training Services offers sessions for those just getting their feet wet in Canvas all the way up through more advanced user needs, such as assessments, rubrics and discussions. All but one session is offered through Adobe Connect, so faculty or staff from any location can register to participate.

“The strength of these sessions is that they are hands-on. They are not demos. The participants walk away with the skills they need and the knowledge that they can do the work,” said Brett Bixler of IT Training Services. “For people who want or feel they need a more personalized experience, that is what these sessions offer.”

Classes range from an hour to almost three hours in length, depending on topic.

The Canvas Learning Center is open 24/7 for those who prefer a self-paced training approach. To access the Canvas Learning Center and its resources, visit http://canvas.psu.edu/canvas-at-a-glance/canvas-learning-center/.

Additional resources, offered on a first-come, first-served basis, include consultations from the TLT Instructional Support Team and Technology Learning Assistants. These consultations must be scheduled in advance. Visit http://canvas.psu.edu/canvas-at-a-glance/consultations/ to learn more about the consultation process.

As a reminder, ANGEL will no longer be available for use after Summer Session II in 2017. Any course taught in fall 2017 and thereafter that uses a learning management System must be taught in Canvas.
