Sending a 'We Are' to these Penn Staters

This week, we recognize six Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University.

Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form.

This week, it's thank you to:

Deborah Diercks, with Penn State Law, whose nominator wrote: "Debbie, a longtime registrar staff member and LionPATH team member, has worked tirelessly on degree audits and records tasks in development of the new student information system. Her long hours and 'team first' attitude are greatly appreciated!"

Teri Dreibelbis, with the College of the Liberal Arts, whose nominator wrote: "Teri prepares and maintains over 80 courses. Teri works very closely with a variety of personalities in our unit and handles this seamlessly. Teri goes above and beyond every day to provide excellent services to our staff, faculty and students."

Rich Akers, with Penn State World Campus, whose nominator wrote: "Rich Akers is such a valuable member of our team. He never hesitates to step up to help in times of need, and his work ethic and attention to detail is so appreciated. Rich connects with his students so readily and brings a wonderful sense of humor to our work unit that makes everyday more fun!"

Mischelle Forgy, in the College of Agricultural Sciences, whose nominator wrote: "Minutes before the first class, I learned that an inappropriate room was assigned for the course. Mischelle quickly dropped everything and found another room, even though she doesn't work for my college. She personified the Penn State Values of Community and Responsibility par excellence!"

Emily Burns, at Penn State Lehigh Valley, whose nominator wrote: "Emily Burns led the Lehigh Valley campus web transition. She ensured it went smoothly and was a success. Her leadership and work ethic deserve to be commended!"

Sandra Dreibelbis, in the Bursar's Office, whose nominator wrote: "Sandra is a true life saver! She has been instrumental in working with our Housing Office during the LionPATH conversion, going the extra mile to get to the root of any problem in order to provide the best possible customer service. We deeply appreciate her availability and collaborative attitude."
