Dan Shevock, Altoona's emerging musical artist in residence, to perform Nov. 14

ALTOONA, Pa. — Dan Shevock, Penn State Altoona’s emerging musical artist in residence, will offer a free concert titled "Dan Shevock and Friends" at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

Shevock, a vibraphonist, pulls from standard, free improvisation and ecological jazz to construct engaging, inventive music. Fusing vibes, guitar, vocals, piano, bass and drums, the concert will feature arrangements of songs by Kurt Cobain, Duke Ellington, George Shearing, Bill Withers and Antonio Carlos Jobim, along with original work and improvisations inspired by Paul Winter.
