Allen receives Administrative Committee on Research's Outstanding Service Award

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. — Lisa Allen, grants and contracts administrator in Penn State Harrisburg’s Office of Research and Outreach, is the 2016 recipient of the Penn State Administrative Committee on Research (ACOR) Outstanding Service Award. Allen received the award at the ACOR annual retreat in August. It recognizes her efforts that go above and beyond to support the research enterprise at Penn State Harrisburg.

Allen also was accepted into the ACOR Fellows Program, which provides a unique opportunity for Penn State research administrators to have an immersive experience in the units that provide support for research. Site visits include the Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Risk Management, Office of Research Protections, the Research Accounting Office, Office of Technology Management, Office of Research Information Systems, and others.

Among Allen’s other recent accomplishments, she obtained national Certification as a Research Administrator (CRA). Highly regarded by University research offices across the country, the CRA designation exemplifies an individual's commitment to exceed “beyond one's job experience and expectations” by learning the complex and expansive body of knowledge required by the CRA.
