Once again this year, the Penn State Blue Band will host a musical event featuring tunes from six Pennsylvania high schools. The Blue Band Jam begins at 1:15 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, in the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus. The public is invited to attend this free event, which takes place prior to the 3:30 p.m. football game against Minnesota.

The hour-long Band Jam will include individual songs from Portage Area, Hollidaysburg, Saucon Valley, Mifflinburg, Susquenita and East Pennsboro high schools, along with music from the Blue Band. This event was revived in 2014 and was greeted with enthusiasm from the attending bands and fans, as well. The event is the reincarnation of Band Day, which dates back to 1950.

"The Blue Band is excited to be back in the Bryce Jordan Center, performing alongside so many talented high school musicians - some of whom we hope to be able to welcome back as Blue Band members in the future," said Greg Drane, Blue Band director.

For those who want to see more of the Blue Band, tickets are on sale now for Bandorama, which will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in Eisenhower Auditorium. Tickets are available at any Arts Ticket Center location, by phone at 814-863-0255 or 1-800-ARTS-TIX, or at http://cpa.psu.edu/ticketcenter online.
