A: The College of Education offers various opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to become involved with the college, as well as their programs of study. The College of Education Student Council (ESC) and College of Education Graduate Student Council help students communicate with faculty, staff and administration. Both organizations sponsor multiple events, including guest speakers, college networking opportunities such as Donuts with the Deans, and University outreach.

Education Ambassadors, a subset of ESC, assist the college’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations by representing the undergraduate student body at various College of Education alumni and development events throughout the year.

Individual programs such as Rehabilitation and Human Services, Educational Leadership, Higher Education and Education Policy Studies also sponsor student-run organizations in which students can become involved. Students from different cultural, ethnic and economic backgrounds may join the Future Educators Association – Multicultural Education Student Association (FEA-MESA), which is coordinated by the college’s Office of Multicultural Programs.

The College of Education also has chapters of Pi Lambda Theta (PLT), an international honor society and professional association for teacher candidates, and Phi Delta Kappa, a professional association for full-time education and graduate students in all areas of education. Students conducting research in K-12 environments can contact the Society of Integrated Education, which matches students with school districts so that they can conduct research.
