Student Programming Association announces September events

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Pennsylvania State University Student Programming Association is excited to announce its September 2016 programming calendar. 

Sept. 2 — Tim McCarny presented by SPA’s Noontime Concert Series 

Tim McNary an accomplished folk artist from Nashville, will be performing as part of SPA Noontime’s Concert Series in the HUB-Robeson Center’s Noontime Lounge (above Hibachi-San) at noon on Friday, Sept. 2. The event is open to the public and a limited number of floor tickets for the Bryce Jordan Center’s Kanye West show will be raffled off to students with valid Penn State ID.  

Sept. 2 — Nittany Ninja Warrior presented by SPA LateNight 

Nittany Ninja Warrior, an event inspired by NBC’s American Ninja Warrior, will come to the HUB-Robeson Center’s Alumni Hall from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2. Consisting of two obstacle courses (Kapow & Big Baller) and a mechanical bull, students will be able to race friends and test their abilities.  

Sept. 9 — Palmlines presented by SPA’s Noontime Concert Series 

Palmlines, an indie, post-rock band that's part of the underground State College band scene, will be performing as part of SPA Noontime’s Concert Series in the HUB-Robeson Center’s Noontime Lounge (above Hibachi-San) at noon on Friday, Sept. 9. The event is open to the public and a limited number of floor tickets for the Bryce Jordan Center’s Kanye West show will be raffled off to students with valid Penn State ID.  

Sept. 16 — Adult Mom presented by SPA’s Noontime Concert Series 

Adult Mom, a band self-described as “bedroom pop” and known for their unique and progressive sounds, will be performing a stripped down acoustic set as part of SPA Noontime’s Concert Series in the HUB-Robeson Center’s Noontime Lounge (above Hibachi-San) at noon on Friday, Sept. 16. The event is open to the public and a limited number of floor tickets for the Bryce Jordan Center’s Kanye West show will be raffled off to students with valid Penn State ID.  

Sept. 23 — Jack and The Coax presented by SPA’s Noontime Concert Series 

Jack and the Coax, an indie rock band with a raw psych and garage band sounds will be performing as part of SPA Noontime’s Concert Series at the HUB-Robeson Center’s Noontime Lounge (above Hibachi-San) at noon on Friday, Sept. 23. The event is open to the public and a limited number of floor tickets for the Bryce Jordan Center’s Kanye West show will be raffled off to students with valid Penn State ID. 

Sept. 23 — ThinkFast presented by SPA LateNight 

ThinkFast, the most awarded interactive trivia experience will come to the HUB-Robenson Center’s Alumni Hall on Friday, Sept. 23 as part of SPA LateNight. Students with valid Penn State ID will be able to take part in one of two shows, either at 9:30 p.m. or 11 p.m., with the chance to win cash prizes.  

Sept. 24 — Laser Tag presented by SPA LateNight 

On Saturday, Sept. 24, SPA LateNight will present Laser Tag at 9 p.m. in the HUB-Robenson Center’s Alumni Hall. Using the 12-person computerized laser game production, TRONsystem Cube, Penn State students with valid ID will be able to participate.  

Sept. 30 — Jesse Ruben presented by SPA’s Noontime Concert Series 

Jesse Ruben, a Philly born, Brooklyn singer-songwriter who gained recognition for his inspirational songwriting after overcoming a personal struggle with Lyme disease, will be performing as part of SPA Noontime’s Concert Series at the HUB-Robeson Center’s Noontime Lounge (above Hibachi-San) at noon on Friday, Sept. 30. The event is open to the public and a limited number of floor tickets for the Bryce Jordan Center’s Kanye West show will be raffled off to students with valid Penn State ID.
