A new website for Penn State College of Medicine launched to the public in the evening of Aug. 30. The new site, med.psu.edu, is the second in a series of new websites for Penn State’s academic health system to launch this year; Penn State Children’s Hospital launched its site in May.

The new site is targeted at potential students and investigators and was organized and designed based upon months of research and feedback from those groups. The new site is friendly to mobile and tablet devices, meets Penn State University’s requirements for accessibility to those with disabilities, is simpler to navigate, and offers an improved search function.

A companion website for current students, students.med.psu.edu, is also live, offering resources to students in all the college’s educational programs, from handbooks to housing information to links to health resources and more.

A significant amount of material for internal audiences, such as current faculty and staff, has been migrated to the Infonet. New Infonet sections for core facilities, research support and several other areas have been developed to house tools, forms, documents and other resources for internal users.

The digital content on these sites is ever-evolving. The Web Solutions team, the Office of Marketing and Communications and College of Medicine faculty and staff will continue to work to update the content to highlight the unique programs and services of the college.

Content subject-matter experts in each department can request updates to these sites, or submit news items for consideration, using the form here.

General questions and feedback on the new site can be directed to comweb@hmc.psu.edu.
