Four members of the faculty at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, were honored in August for excellence in teaching, research, advising and outreach. They received the awards during the first session of the campus's 2016-17 Faculty Senate.
- Ed Evans, senior lecturer in engineering, received the Guy W. Wilson Award for Excellence in Academic Advising.
- Gabrielle Dietrich, lecturer in music and director of choral ensembles, received the Council of Fellows Faculty Excellence in Outreach Award, which recognizes a faculty member who, in the opinion of students, colleagues and community leaders, most truly embodies the outreach mission of the college, community and academic profession.
- Jason Bennett, associate professor of chemistry, received the Council of Fellows Faculty Research Award, which recognizes faculty members who, in the opinion of their peers, truly fill the role of inspired, dedicated researchers.
- Adam Hollinger, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, received the Council of Fellows Excellence in Teaching Award, which recognizes a faculty member who, in the opinion of students, alumni and colleagues, truly fills the role of an effective teacher.
