Penn State student-produced work has been nominated for seven 2016 College/University Production Awards, the equivalent of regional Emmy Awards, by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Mid-Atlantic Chapter. The nominations include four in broadcast categories and three in film categories.

Each year, the awards recognize outstanding student achievement in production in the Mid-Atlantic region. The award is intended to be an incentive for continued pursuit of excellence by those studying media and journalism and to bring attention to outstanding achievements by students.

Over the past three years, programs produced in the College of Communications have earned nine College/University Production Awards from the NATAS, with “Centre County Report” being selected as the best newscast each of those years.
