Penn State Athletics event staff hiring fair set for Aug. 16-17

Intercollegiate Athletics hiring for numerous positions to assist home events operation

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is looking for local residents and students who are interested in joining the event staff team for 2016-17. Positions exist for the majority of the Nittany Lions’ 31 sports.

Penn State Athletics will hold a hiring fair from 4-7 p.m. Aug. 16-17 in Pegula Ice Arena. Openings exist for multiple positions, including: ticket taker, usher, door guard, guest services, public address announcer, scoreboard operator, ball shagger, videographer and parking attendant.

Pay rates range from $7.25/hour to $10/hour, depending on the position.

Anyone interested in an events staff position that can’t make the hiring fair can come to the Athletic Business Office at 103 Bryce Jordan Center, weekdays from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Please enter at the Guest Entrance on the East side of the Jordan Center and ask for Mary Cooper in 103 BJC. Parking is available using the pay stations in the lot.

Information for hiring fair attendees:

Please enter at Gate A of Pegula Ice Arena (behind Shields Building and located closest to the Curtin Road/University Drive intersection).

Parking is available for faculty/staff permit holders in the Yellow H lot next to the Shields Building.

Open parking is available for non-faculty/staff permit holders in the lots East of University Drive (Stadium West and Jordan East and the Orange lots surrounding the Bryce Jordan Center).

Employment paperwork will be completed onsite. You will need two forms of identification. Please refer to page 9 of the form on the following website for the list of acceptable forms of identification: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-9.pdf.

All payroll is direct deposited so you will also need to bring a voided check or your bank account and bank routing information for the Salary Deposit Form.

Final approval of your hire will also be dependent on completion of a University Background Check and both Mandatory Child Abuse and Clery Act training.
