2016 Rio Games available for viewing in West Pattee Library Aug. 6-21

Closed captioned and audio viewing options for 2016 Rio Games broadcasts

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Live streaming and network broadcasts of the NBCUniversal presentation of the Games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, will be available for viewing in the News and Microforms Library on the ground floor of West Pattee Library. Both closed captioned broadcasts, available in W21 Pattee Library, and broadcasts with audio, available in W22 Pattee Library, will be provided during regular library hours Aug. 6 to 21.

More than 10,000 athletes from more than 200 nations will participate in the first-ever Olympic Games to be held in South America. A school-record 20 Penn Staters will represent four countries in the 2016 Olympics with 18 competitors and two coaches taking part in 10 sports.

Both the Film Video Viewing Room (W22 Pattee) and main viewing area (W21 Pattee) will feature sports programming each day. A detailed viewing schedule, as well as any programming changes, will be located on the News & Microforms Library webpage.

Viewings of the 2016 Rio Olympic Games are free and open to the public and space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The viewing sessions end when the University Libraries closes each day. Consult the hours webpage for a full schedule for the News and Microforms Library.
