Penn State DuBois to offer engineering review courses starting in August

DUBOIS, Pa. — Penn State DuBois Outreach is again offering courses designed to help professional engineers further develop their careers. The Engineer in Training (EIT) Review Course will help prepare individuals for the EIT examination. It will run concurrently with the Professional Engineer Civil Exam Review Course, beginning in August.

Pennsylvania requires that every engineer, with or without a college degree, must pass the EIT examination as the first step toward licensure in the state. To be eligible to take the exam, a participant must have four years of work experience in an engineering-related area. These courses will prepare participants for exams by providing instruction in areas such as mathematics, statistics, thermodynamics, electrical circuits and more.

The EIT review course is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday evenings Aug. 25 to March 2, 2017, in the Swift Building at Penn State DuBois. The course fee is $1,525, which includes the textbook and other course materials.

The Professional Engineer Civil Exam Review Course will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday evenings Aug. 23 to Feb. 28, 2017, also in the Swift Building at Penn State DuBois. The fee for this course is also $1,525, which includes the textbook and other course materials, as well.
