Blood drives set for June 9, 13 at University Park

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A pair of blood drives will be held at Penn State's University Park campus during the month of June.

The first blood drive will take place from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, at the Millennium Science Complex, while the second will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, June 13, at the HUB-Robeson Center.

The Materials Research Institute, Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment, Social Science Research Institute, and the Penn State Institute for CyberScience are sponsoring the drives.

“The American Red Cross is extremely grateful to the Office of Vice President for Research, the institutes, and Penn State faculty and staff for their support on these two upcoming blood drives,” said Melissa Wolf, account manager for the American Red Cross.

The need for blood is constant, but blood donations tend to go down over the summer, making donations during the summer months especially critical.

All presenting donors must bring a form of identification and will be given free juice and snacks with their donation.
