UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Saturday and Sunday will mark a time of transition at the Penn State Smeal College of Business as the college bids farewell to more than 1,600 graduating students.

The weekend’s festivities kick off with Senior Sendoff from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Business Building Atrium. The class of 2016, their friends and family members are invited. Charles H. Whiteman, the John and Becky Surma Dean of Smeal, will deliver remarks at 2:30 p.m.

Smeal’s commencement ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday in the Bryce Jordan Center. Salomon “Sal” Sredni, the retired CEO of TradeStation Group Inc., will deliver the commencement address.

A 1987 accounting graduate and a Smeal Board of Visitors member, Sredni will have the unique experience of not only delivering the commencement address, but he’ll also watch his twin daughters graduate during the same ceremony.

For those who can’t attend the ceremony, Smeal is partnering with Penn State to stream it live at www.smeal.psu.edu/commencement.

Smeal’s one-year Master of Accounting (MAcc) Program will hold its commencement ceremony at 11:45 a.m. Sunday in Beaver Stadium’s Mount Nittany Club, conferring degrees to more than 100 graduates.
