CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — The Penn State Lehigh Valley Athletics Department has announced the hiring of Jeffrey Breidinger as the campus' new head men's and women's cross-country coach.

Previously, Breidinger served as head men's and women's cross-country coach at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. In 2015 he produced two first-team all-conference runners and the team finished second in the EPAC championship meet. Breidinger's team not only improved on the course but in the classroom, as 80 percent of his team made dean's list honors for the college.

Breidinger also was an assistant track and field coach at York College of Pennsylvania, serving as the head men's and women's throws coach. In Breidinger's first season at York he was able to produce new personal records among all his throwers in the program, which resulted in every thrower qualifying for conferences. Breidinger's top performer in 2014-15 included a Capital Athletic Conference champion and an NCAA Division III national qualifier in the men's javelin. In 2015-2016, Breidinger produced another all-conference athlete and new record holder in the indoor season for York.

Before coaching collegiately, Breidinger coached high school athletes in the PIAA, with extensive involvement in District XI. Breidinger previously coached track at Saucon Valley High School and Salisbury High School as an assistant track and field coach, where his impact was felt through the program producing numerous league and district qualifiers and medalists. Breidinger has also coached high school football at Saucon Valley High School and Wilson Area High School, and he served as a women's assistant basketball coach at Salisbury Township School District. Breidinger also served as an assistant in the athletic offices for Salisbury Township School District and Wilson Area School District.

Breidinger is a graduate of DeSales University with a bachelor of science in sport management. He was a member of the men's track and field program at DeSales University and was a member of the program's first Outdoor Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) championship in 2011.

Breidinger currently resides in Easton.
