Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Equity seeks applications

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Equity (CLGBTE) has reopened its membership process and will accept applications for affiliate membership for the 2016-17 academic year from April 21-29. Affiliate membership terms begin on July 1 and end on June 30, 2017.

The commission values the breadth of background and experience that can be found among the members of the University community and is actively seeking a broad base of applicants. Students (undergraduate and graduate), faculty, staff and administrators from all Penn State campuses are eligible to serve.

Individuals interested in working to enhance diversity and support the mission of the CLGBTE are encouraged to apply. Staff members may wish to speak with their supervisors about this University service opportunity prior to submitting an application.

Created in 1991, the Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Equity is an advisory group to the University president. The purpose of the commission is to improve the climate for diversity within Penn State by specifically addressing issues affecting the welfare of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender members of the University community.
