UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Some Penn State faculty members and some award-winning journalists plan to combine and lead the ninth annual Keystone Multimedia Workshop — an intensive, three-day workshop in early June designed to give students, professional photographers and educators the skills needed to produce compelling multimedia stories.

This year’s session will be conducted June 2-4 in Gettysburg, co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association and the Penn State College of Communications.

Faculty members returning as workshop “coaches” are John Beale and Will Yurman, both of whom are senior lectures in the Department of Journalism at Penn State. Both built respected careers as photojournalists before joining the Penn State faculty. They have numerous awards to their credit and continue to enhance their professional skills while teaching full time at the University.

Also joining the workshop as coaches for 2016 are Kathy Matheson of the Associated Press and Guy Wathen of the Pittsburgh-Tribune Review.

Registration for the workshop is open to educators, students and professionals across the state — and beyond. Details may be found on the workshop website or by contacting Teresa Shaak at the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association at teresas@pa-news.org or 717-703-3003.
