Undergraduate students from University Park and Penn State campuses will present their research on Wednesday, April 6 at Penn State’s annual Undergraduate Exhibition. The event is open to the public.
Held in the HUB-Robeson Center’s Alumni and Heritage Halls, the Exhibition will feature more than 250 posters and 350 student presenters. Students were encouraged to submit work spanning the categories of arts and humanities, engineering, health and life sciences, physical sciences, social and behavioral sciences, and course-based projects (all disciplines).
Faculty and graduate student volunteers will judge the posters according to their content and display, as well as the student’s oral presentation. Judging sessions will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Penn State President Eric Barron will offer remarks during an awards ceremony at 4:00 p.m. In addition to poster awards, the ceremony will celebrate the creative accomplishments of Penn State undergraduate students by including performances from students in music, theatre, and dance.
The top entries in each poster category will be awarded monetary prizes, with The Gerard A. Hauser Award given to the entry judged best overall. Other awards include the Phi Kappa Phi Peter T. Luckie Award for Outstanding Exhibit by a Junior and the University Libraries Award for Information Literacy.
The Exhibition will also feature the winners of the ROAR (Recording of Academic Research) competition, in which students discuss their research in a 2-3 minute video. ROAR is sponsored by the Schreyer Honors College.
