UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — More than 1,500 students are expected to attend the 2016 Penn State Smeal College of Business Corporate Citizenship Conference from 6 to 9:30 p.m. March 22 in the Business Building.
The Penn State Net Impact undergraduate chapter, housed within Smeal, and the college’s Office of Career and Corporate Connections are co-hosting the conference.
The event is designed to stress the importance of citizenship in business and to allow companies to engage with the next generation of Smeal students, second-semester freshmen and sophomores.
The conference has three main components:
- James Gowen, global supply chain operations and chief sustainability officer at Verizon, will deliver a keynote address.
- Each company attending the event has been asked to bring a leader in integrity, corporate social responsibility, or sustainability to conduct multiple break-out sessions with question-and-answer components.
- All attending companies will have tables for students to visit and talk with recruiters about citizenship and working at their respective companies.
