Nominations sought for staff recognition award

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Nominations are being accepted by the University Staff Advisory Council (USAC) for an award that honors Penn State staff members who go above and beyond their routines to resolve difficult dilemmas or who have been exceptionally creative and responsive to the needs of others.

USAC's Staff Recognition and Appreciation Program, created to honor "staff stars," has recognized dozens of staff members in the past few years. All staff members at all Penn State campus locations are eligible and anyone at the University — administrators, faculty, staff, technical service personnel and students — may submit a nomination. The program's goal is to honor staff members who regularly see potential in others, go the extra mile in a specific situation or simply make life better for those around them.

Each nomination will be considered on its own merit, with no comparisons among nominees. Through this recognition program, USAC hopes to highlight deserving staff members.

To submit a nomination, visit http://ohr.psu.edu/university-staff-advisory-council/usac-awards-nomination-form/. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 11. Honorees will be recognized at a special ceremony in May.

The University Staff Advisory Council, "the voice of Penn State staff," was created in 1995 and exists to explore issues, policies and practices that impact or are impacted by staff employees.
