UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Individuals who have made outstanding contributions to LGBT concerns or who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement are being sought for nomination for the Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (CLGBTE) Equity Awards. The nominations for these Rainbow Awards will be accepted for current Penn State faculty, staff and students.

The Outstanding Service Award looks for individuals who have shown exceptional service regarding LGBT concerns, and all nominees should be active participants in improving the climate of diversity and inclusion for LGBT members of the Penn State community. The Academic Achievement Award seeks individuals who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in research, teaching and/or academic coursework. Nominations preferably acknowledge LGBT-focused work but can be for achievements in any area of research, teaching or student engagement.

CLGBTE asks for nominations, including self-nominations, by Friday, Feb. 19. For more information, visit equity.psu.edu/clgbte/awards or contact Dana Carlisle Kletchka at dck10@psu.edu or the CLGBTE office at 814-863-7696.

Recipients will be honored at CLGBTE's 25th anniversary celebration, which will be held from 4-6 p.m. on April 21 at the Nittany Lion Inn.
