Global Programs & AESEDA to host Research in Africa Mini-Symposium

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- University Research Council Members and Deans are invited to identify faculty or researchers who are engaged in research or other professional activities in Africa. President Eric Barron will be the guest of honor and the event will take place on February 22, 2016 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Millennium Science Complex Café Commons, third floor of Millennium Science Complex.The symposium will showcase campus-wide research in Africa. Researchers will have the opportunity to give a 1-2 slide power-point presentation describing their research, its impacts and where it is occurring in Africa.  The presentations will be used to explore synergies in research and regional engagement. AESEDA aims to bring these researchers together for future opportunities and increased collaboration with additional activities planned after the symposium.The symposium will be followed by a reception from 6:00-8:00 p.m.at the Schreyer House hosted by President Barron to promote continued discussion and networking.  Please contact Prof. Gregory Jenkins (gsj1@psu.edu) or Lisa Skripek (lms4@psu.edu) to register by January 22, 2016.
