UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This week, we recognize nine Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Thank you to:

Carolina McCluskey, a faculty member at Penn State Lehigh Valley, whose nominator wrote: "Dr. McCluskey is always willing to help and assist students, faculty and staff. She readily shares her extensive experience and always takes time to listen and help, no matter how busy she is."

Tina Rose, at Penn State Schuylkill, whose nominator wrote: "Tina's great attitude and care for students is immeasurable. She is always happy and genuinely values student input and interaction. On behalf of all Schuylkill campus students, 'Thank you for caring about us students — enough to push us to become our very best.'"

Gary Gray, in the College of Engineering, whose nominator wrote: "He has been a fabulous professor and a fantastic adviser. He teaches in a manner that I can easily understand and learn from. He advises in a manner that concentrates on my interests and applies them to what is best for me."

Caitlin Maher, with Global Programs, whose nominator wrote: "As a global student engagement program assistant for Global Programs, Caitlin has gone above and beyond at her position. She works to offer engaging and meaningful programming for international and American students. She is a true champion of a global Penn State."

Tim Lengel, at Penn State Harrisburg, whose nominator wrote: "I just cannot express enough how grateful I am for Tim's assistance. I thought it important for him to be recognized for his kindness and support of faculty as well as his commitment to the learning process."

Agnes Kim, at Penn State Worthington-Scranton, whose nominator wrote: "Dr. Kim has organized a tenure-track faculty group which has weekly meetings to touch base and discuss issues. While the faculty have mentors within their disciplines, this is a cross-disciplinary approach to build camaraderie and provide support."

Lauren Blum, at Penn State New Kensington, whose nominator wrote: "Lauren has transformed student engagement at the campus breathing new life into traditional campus activities. As the leader for the west in creating the new 'Penn State in Pittsburgh' series that featured a Penn State West Regional Pirates Game tailgate with 300 students from six campuses, she exemplifies the 'We Are' philosophy."

Justin Fitzpatrick, at Penn State DuBois, whose nominator wrote: "Justin works in the IT department and is always available to help us with computer and printer problems. He never hesitates to answer my questions — even when I start with 'I have a stupid question.' Those are his favorite kind of questions, and he always has the answer."

Debbie Keating, at Penn State Greater Allegheny, whose nominator wrote: "Debbie Keating helps to make Academic Affairs run smoothly. She is always a friendly face for students, faculty and staff. Debbie's courteous, efficient and kind attention makes the workplace enjoyable."
