Student tickets for TaxSlayer Bowl to go on sale Friday and Saturday

Student Nittany Lion Club members can purchase tickets starting at 7 a.m. Friday; Remaining student tickets to go on sale at 8 a.m. Saturday

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Student Nittany Lion Club members can purchase tickets through Student Account Manager to attend the Nittany Lions’ matchup with Georgia in the 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11. Students that are not Student NLC members can purchase tickets to the Jan. 2 meeting in Jacksonville beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Bryce Jordan Center Ticket Office.

The Nittany Lions and Bulldogs will be meeting for just the second time, with the other contest resulting in a 27-23 Penn State victory in the 1983 Sugar Bowl to capture the program’s first national championship. Penn State, Georgia and Oklahoma are tied for third nationally with 28 bowl victories, and the Nittany Lions are No. 2 in bowl winning percentage with a 28-15-2 postseason record (64.4).Each student will be permitted to purchase two $85 tickets and must present a valid Penn State ID+ card to secure a ticket. Cash, credit and Lion Cash will be accepted Saturday at the in-person sale. Tickets sold on Saturday will be issued at the time of purchase.Students buying during the SNLC pre-sale can pay with credit or debit card only. Tickets purchased by SNLC members will be available for pick up Saturday, Dec. 12, from 8-11 a.m. at the “SNLC Pickup Line” at the Bryce Jordan Center. Tickets can also be picked up Dec. 14-18 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Jordan Center. All tickets must be picked up by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18. Game tickets are included in the official tour packages from Penn State Athletics and Penn State Alumni Association travel partner PrimeSport.The official tours include a three-day land package starting on Dec. 31 and a game day package on Jan. 2 in Jacksonville. Land Package: The official land package includes: game tickets, three-night deluxe hotel accommodations, exclusive Penn State welcome gathering, round-trip transportation to Penn State’s Jan. 1 pep rally and admission to the official Penn State pre-game tailgate.

Game Day Package: The official game day package includes game tickets and admission to the official Penn State pre-game tailgate on Jan. 2.Led by Coach James Franklin, the Nittany Lions will face Georgia for the first time since Jan. 1, 1983. The clash will air at noon on ESPN, the Penn State Sports Network and GoPSUsports.com.
