Penn State Lehigh Valley spring professional certificate offerings

Penn State Lehigh Valley's Department of Continuing Education will begin its spring professional development offerings in early January 2016. Local professionals have the opportunity to study for certification exams in three areas: payroll, project management and human resources.

PayTrain Fundamentals begins Jan. 9. This course covers the topics necessary for students with little or no payroll experience to sit for the American Payroll Association Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) and is a prerequisite to the PayTrain Mastery course, which prepares payroll professionals to test for CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification. The course is held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 9 through Feb. 6 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan, 20 and 27, at the Center Valley campus, 2809 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley, Pennsylvania.

Project Management begins Jan. 11. This program consists of four courses, each one is five weeks in length, which covers the terminology, concepts and calculations used by Project Management Institute (PMI). All four courses are PMI approved for continuing education credits. Classes are held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on consecutive Mondays at the Center Valley campus, 2809 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley, Pennsylvania.

SHRM Learning System for human resource professionals who wish to learn more about human resource practice or certify for the Society for Human Resource Management, Certified Professional or Senior Certified Professional on Saturday, Feb. 6 for 10 weeks. Classes will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Center Valley campus, 2809 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley, Pennsylvania.
