UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This week, we recognize six Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Thank you to:

Janet Hughes, with University Libraries, whose nominator wrote: "Janet goes above and beyond every time for our library patrons. She goes straight to the source for the best information possible, making sure our students, staff and faculty have what they need to succeed in the academic environment. Her knowledge and dedication inspires me at every turn!"

Heather Mannion, with the Center for Performing Arts, whose nominator wrote: "Heather took the initiative to arrange a meeting between a young trumpeter and the legendary Wynton Marsalis. When the boy's mom tweeted about her son's excitement for the concert, Heather wanted to make this a special night that a young musician would treasure!"

Max Zorin, with the College of Arts and Architecture, whose nominator wrote: "For the love of music! Max Zorin has continued to show his love for string instruments by supporting students, opening minds and helping young musicians to excel in their craft. Thank you Max for filling our ears with notes, our hearts with joy and our souls with passion."

Lisa Goguen, with Penn State Hazleton, whose nominator wrote: "Associate Professor of Psychology Lisa Goguen brought the Walk to End Alzheimer's to campus starting in 2008, and the walk has continued to grow in participants and funds raised ever since. This year’s walk had 160 walkers raising money and awareness."

Charles Greggs, with Penn State Shenango, whose nominator wrote: "He works hard to recruit new students to the campus. He embodies the University by working with people within the system and the community, which shows how committed he is to the campus. His thoughts and ideas are resilient, which demonstrates a strong commitment to the University."

Mary Ann Walters, at Penn State Fayette, whose nominator wrote: "Mary Ann put in a lot of extra effort with a couple of mining students to make sure they were successful in math and computer science classes."

Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form. For more information about the process, visit the "We Are!" guidelines
