Penn State Fayette scores well on federal report card

Responding to a call for college accountability in President Barack Obama’s 2015 State of the Union address, the U.S. Department of Education has released an interactive College Scorecard, which highly ranks Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus for its graduation rate, cost and alumni earnings.

“We’re pleased the U.S. Department of Education’s new College Scorecard validates what we at Penn State Fayette already know: that students at our campus can earn a valuable education at a reasonable cost,” said Robert Tallerico, director of enrollment management.

On the Scorecard, Penn State Fayette compares favorably with its peers on a national level. The campus ranks above average in graduation rate and below the national average for annual cost to attend. When looking at how much students earn annually after graduation, Penn State Fayette sits well above the national average — at $47,500.

The strongest College Scorecard category for Penn State Fayette was debt repayment. While the national average of students paying down their debt is 67 percent, at the Fayette campus, 86 percent of students are able to repay their loans.

Penn State Fayette also scored well on another collegiate ranking system earlier this year. The Other College Guide: Finding the Right School for You, published by Washington Monthly magazine, ranked the Fayette campus tenth in the “Best Bang for Your Buck” category, which includes more than 400 schools in the Northeast.
