Feeling a little under the weather? Follow these UHS flu tips

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Fever, chills and body aches? Runny nose, sore throat or cough?

The flu is a serious respiratory infection that affects millions of people each year and spreads easily through the respiratory droplets of an infected person. Although recovery may take several days, most people recover from the flu with rest and proper self-care strategies.

College students are especially vulnerable to the flu due to close living quarters, class schedules and social activities. Add to the mix that many college students don’t have regular sleep patterns, may not eat properly and have increased stress levels, making them even more vulnerable.

If you’re feeling under the weather, visit the University Health Services (UHS) influenza website here for tips on managing your symptoms, advice on when to seek medical evaluation and directions for how to make an appointment.
