UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The College of Engineering will be honored with two volunteer group awards from the Penn State Alumni Association.
The Penn State Engineering Alumni Society (PSEAS) will receive the 2015 Student Interaction Award in recognition of the society’s inaugural celebration of Penn State Engineers Week in February 2015. The society sponsored a weeklong program of events and partnered with student organizations to organize tours, contests and guest speaker presentations that celebrated the accomplishments of Penn State engineers.
PSEAS will also receive the 2015 Young Alumni Involvement Award in recognition of establishing the College of Engineering Young Alumni Advisory Board. The board, the first of its kind at Penn State, connects and engages recent engineering graduates through volunteer opportunities in the college.
“These awards are a testament to the innovation shown by our dedicated alumni volunteers over the past year,” said Jennifer Theiss, the college’s director of alumni relations. “We are delighted that their efforts are being recognized in this way.”
The awards will be presented at the Penn State Alumni Association's annual volunteer awards dinner Oct. 30 at the Penn Stater Conference Center.
