Penn State Chamber Orchestra in concert Oct. 6

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State's Chamber Orchestra will present a program featuring music by Beethoven, Elgar and Poulenc at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, in Esber Recital Hall. Tickets are general admission and cost $4.99 for the general public and $2 for students. Tickets will go on sale 45 minutes prior to the concert in the lobby; no advance purchase is available. The ensemble is conducted by Gerardo Edelstein, director of orchestral studies.

An ensemble of varying size as dictated by the repertoire, the Chamber Orchestra performs works from the 18th through the 21st centuries. The Chamber Orchestra has made three European tours. Repertoire from recent years has included works by Mozart, Copland, Haydn, Stravinsky, Schubert, Wagner, Mendelssohn, Ravel, Debussy and Beethoven. Enrollment, open to all University Park students, is by audition at the beginning of each semester.
